Deutsche Bahn extends Last-Minute fares through December 2027

How the offer works

The discounted fares apply only to selected ICE and IC connections with available seat capacity, not to every train. BahnCard discounts also apply.

Introduced in May 2026, the promotion was initially due to end in mid-December 2026. The state-owned rail operator announced the one-year extension on November 1, 2026.

About 1.3 million customers have used the fares

According to Deutsche Bahn figures reported by ZDFheute on November 1, around 1.3 million customers had used the Last-Minute offer since its launch. The company says it wants to reach passengers with flexible travel plans and attract new customer groups.

Additional saver fares and youth discount cards

For passengers planning further ahead, Deutsche Bahn also announced one million additional Sparpreis tickets starting at 6.99 euros for travel up to a year in advance. ZDFheute reported on November 1 that the tickets would be available between Tuesday and Thursday.

Deutsche Bahn is also extending its free Jugend BahnCard offer for travelers ages 6 to 18.
